Appears to be a zen circle (“enso”) merged with a photo of an artistic lamp. Wonderfully unique!
A zen circle is meant to be painted in one brush stroke. This circle looks a little too regular, with its consistent width. Although the break in the line is similar to many such circles I’ve seen. Either way, it’s a beautiful photo.
Hi, Brian;
I looked up zen circle, and you’re right, that bit of the ring that disappeared when I removed the background made the ornament look exactly like a zen circle. A happy coincidence ๐
I didn’t know the circle had so many meanings attached to it. “Theย ensoย is a manifestation of the artist at the moment of creation and the acceptance of our innermost self. It symbolizes strength, elegance, and one-mindedness.” Accepting our innermost self seems like an excellent life goal…still working on it ๐

On a Covid walk, I took a shot of a piece on someone’s lawn. Played around with it a bit ๐

I’ve never heard of a ‘zen circle’ before. I’m off to google that right now.

Have no idea what kind of circle it is. The original picture looks different, this happened when I took the background out ๐
