While I’m not a big believer in proverbs and folk wisdom, I hope the above saying is true.
After a year of bad and worse news, we could all use a little luck.
Heading into the third wave of Crippling Covid, and yet another lockdown here in Ontario, I have to say I’m feeling a little hopeless, and helpless, and tired.
Yes, the vaccines are rolling out, and the news broadcasts report light at the end of the tunnel, but I’m wondering ā¦
When the storm is over, just how big and bright is that rainbow going to be?
I’ll let you know. We’re well ahead with vaccines. I had my first shot two weeks ago. Half the UK adult population have now had their first shot. Restrictions are slowly being lifted. We’re able to travel (within Wales) again. And we’re allowed to meet up to six other people in the garden. But not indoors yet. But I realise it only takes a few people to spoil the party.

Our vaccine rollout has been slow, only 15% of adults so far. It’s hard to be patient with the ICUs filling up. Glad to hear it’s getting better in the U.K., gives me some hope š

That ice cream cone reminds me something else.
I’m very lucky to be fully vaccinated, mostly because I have really good health care. Things will improve as the vaccine becomes more available in Canada. All I can say is get it as soon as you can, and keep wearing the damn mask for a while longer.

Yes, things are getting better, more vaccines available every week. I’ve had my first shot, waiting on the second. It was just a little depressing this week. Going into lock down again with the varriants getting around faster than the vaccines.
Thanks for the ice cream smile š

Don’t let it get to you. Some days are harder than others … It will be months over here before anyone gets even close to a vaccination. There will be an end to it … eventually!
Sending sun your way and happy thoughts

Most of the time, I’m okay with this crazy covid world, but as you say, some days are harder than others.
Thanks for the sun, it actually came out today š

Hope things start picking up there, soon. Have a friend in Toronto fighting the blues over all this as well as health crises complicated by COVID restrictions. I read a number of your flash fiction pieces. I struggle to read much these days (bad news for a writer) but I’m slowly getting back to it. Enjoyed your work and perspective.
